Annika Joy Camenga arrived on Wednesday, October 17th at 10:54 p.m. She weighed in at 8 pounds 12.7 ounces and 21 inches long and a wonderful little bundle. She had been a little slow in entering the world, so labor was induced. It didn’t take long then – just over five hours from induction to birth!
Grandma and Grandpa Rood were in town for the week and brought Elisa to the hospital Thursday morning. Elisa was delighted with her new baby sister and very happy to hold her. She also had fun with Grandma and Grandpa while we stayed in the hospital.
Annika came home on Friday afternoon. Other than refusing to nurse directly, she is a very good baby and had some reasonably long periods of sleep – we had to set an alarm for a few nights in order to make sure that she ate!
