Three months and sitting

Bumbo jumper 2.JPGLast Friday Elisa turned three months old! She has been showing a lot of interest in sitting up. Shortly before she turned three months, she started bracing her head while we pull her up into a sitting position. Apparently, she feels grown up when she is sitting!

Therefore, we decided to invest in a Bumbo chair which supports her so she can sit up on her own. She got it the night of her three-month birthday and enjoyed a few minutes sitting in it before going to bed. She has sat in it most days, frequently for 15 minutes at a time. She often has one of her toys in her hands as she sits (well, until she drops it!). Mostly, though, she sits and looks around, bobbing her head non-chalantly.

However, in the last day or so, she has learned a new trick. She sits in the Bumbo and arches her back until she is almost straight. She looks like if she went just a little farther, she would overbalance and fall over the back! So we have to be much more careful about using the seat – maybe when we get the tray that will keep her in her seat!

In the video below, you can see Elisa being pulled to sitting and see her in the Bumbo! Enjoy!

They are getting so big aren’t they? I saw that you put Elisa in the bumbo, so I tried ours with Ethan and he liked it. He too has always preferred a sitting position.

Andrew and Kristin – I loved the videos…and photos. I am so glad to keep up with how Elisa and her parents are doing. I am looking forward to seeing you all soon.
